today i'm two.....

Happy Birthday Mac!!!!

We can't believe that you are already 2!! You bring such joy to our family...and we are so thankful for your life. We love you so much....happy birthday little man!!!

arghh matey....

We had a bunch of mac's friends over to celebrate halloween again this year, and I have to say I think I have just as much fun as the kids do. I love making fun halloween foods and getting mac dressed up...the older he gets the more I want to dress up myself! We had a great time and all the kids were so cute....

Mac and I went costume hunting a little while ago and we came across this pirate costume and a dinosaur one. I was shocked that Mac voiced his opinion on what he wanted to be....he looked at me and said " mac ask daddy be pirate?!?" I just laughed and needless to say he got what he wanted:)

On a side note..little update on mac:

-he loves, loves school....
-has decided that if he drops the "t" in truck and replaces it with an"f" he will get a good laugh from everyone...
-has been sick for 3 weeks now with a horrible cold...now has an ear infection, but thank goodness for antibiotics....
-is a chatterbox...I mean he doesn't stop....and EXPECTS an answer for everything..
-likes to be held like a baby now before bedtime and wants you to sing "rock a bye baby"...
-is obessed with sweet tea...everytime we pass a mcdonalds he asks "mommy go get tea?" so sad on my part, i know....
-he had a major role in what was our worst grocery shopping trip to date...let's just say I was in tears by the time we reached the frozen section while a dozen eggs lay splattered in our cart, on the floor..and just for kicks, mac was holding two in his hands....squeezing them.....
-if you ask him how old he is he says "almost 2" and holds up 4 fingers....

I try to enjoy all of this the best I can..I know it will pass all too soon.....

pumpkins!!!

So we ventured out again this year to pick out the perfect pumpkins...I was so excited to go and get some fun pics of mac with all the pumpkins. Of course, mac didn't want to stand or sit still and was determined to try and pick up every pumpkin he could find. He would go up to a pumpkin and say
"mac do it....no--too heavy"...and then would go and try another one...oh the joys of pumpkin picking!!

So...here is one of the many conversations that I hear Mac and Charlie having:

Setting: Charlie is giving Mac a bath....I am in our room putting away laundry.

Conversation:

Mac: "Daddy"
Charlie: "Mac you have to be quiet...sshhh"
Mac: " Daddy says sshhh"
Mac: " Daddy more please"

At this point I walk into the bathroom and the door is closed..hmm??

Mommy: "Charlie- what are you and Mac doing?"
Charlie: "Nothing..."
Mommy: " Mac-what are you and daddy doing?"
(Mac starts giggling)
Mommy: "Mac-what did daddy give you?"
Mac: "Daddy give Mac cookie" (then Mac puts his finger up to his mouth and says "mommy sshhh")

Charlie and I couldn't quit laughing.....Charlie hasn't quite figured out to have Mac keep a secret!!

take me back to the beach...

We just recently returned from a trip to the beach with my parents. We had a great time and wish we were still there....Mac did great and loved having the freedom of running all over the place! We ate some yummy seafood, played at the pool, looked for seashells, and just enjoyed spending some time together. We also went to the aquarium and that was awesome... we saw some divers in a huge tank and of course Mimi got Mac his very own "stuffed" Nemo....he has to sleep with it every night now:)

Everyday when Mac went down for his nap, I went outside to the pool or the beach and relaxed by myself.....I actually read an entire book in two days...can you believe it?? I had more time to myself while we were at the beach than I have had since Mac was born:) Charlie and Mac enjoyed some guy time together and they were both in heaven that they could spend ALL day together. My parents enjoyed having Mac running into their room every morning to wake them up! All together we had such a great week, and at the most random times Mac will ask to "go back and see ocean." Charlie and I know that every year he is going to be more fun and we can't wait for next summer!

first day of school...

Ok...so sorry for the lack of posts lately...I am back-tracking a bit here. Mac started school about a month ago and he LOVES it! He is doing great and some mornings is way too excited to leave me:) His teachers say that he is doing well and loves to help clean up....I am so proud! I am able to get a decent amount of work done, but I think that I am more tired on days that he goes to school b/c I am trying to cram a hundred things into the 3 hours that he is gone!
